ATLANTA (UPI) -- Right-hander Tommy Greene tossed a three-hitter to earn his first major-league victory and Lonnie Smith homered and drove in three runs Thursday night to send the Atlanta Braves to a 3-0 shutout of the Houston Astros. Greene, 1-1, struck out seven and walked two in his third major-league start. He did not permit a runner past first, yielding singles to Craig Biggio in the first, and Ken Caminiti in the fifth and eighth innings. Greene, 22, was recalled from Richmond of the International League when the rosters were expanded. He made his major league debut Sept. 10 in Cincinnati. Atlanta took a 2-0 lead in the fourth off Astros starter Jim Deshaies, 13-10. With one out, Mark Lemke doubled and Smith followed with his 21st home run. The Braves increased their lead to 3-0 in the sixth off reliever Bob Forsch. Jeff Blauser led off with a double and Lemke walked. Smith singled to left to score Blauser.
