[comp.object] Data-oriented programming

I have heard the term "data-oriented programming," distinct from
"object-oriented programming," used recently. Apparently this is
associated with some recent research/experimentation at a major
university (I forget which one). Could someone provide a definition
of this term and a clear distinction between what the two terms mean?
