I recently saw a demonstration of a tool called ObjectVision, by a Berkeley, CA company of the same name. It runs under MS-DOS and enables graphical construction of a user interface and object hierarchy. Both user interface objects and data objects can be defined. The program can attach actions to user interface objects, for example, the action that should happen when a "button" is clicked. Finally, the tool can generate program code in one of several languages. The version I saw was nearly complete, but needed polishing. It also didn't run under MS-Windows, but instead supplied its own graphical user interface. The author (who demonstrated it) was contemplating pricing it somewhere between $100 and $400. /John Ciccarelli (johnc@plx.uucp)
