From: sventek@lbl-ws.arpa Just to set the record straight, you are talking about the VMS implementation of the Software Tools Virtual Operating System, not Eunice. Yes, that problem is well known, and as a result the last 3 distributions of the software have built all of the tools programs with notrace. You can obtain the most recent distribution by requesting a copy of the Fall 1983 VAX SIG tape from your DECUS local user group. The software tools shell, in so far as possible, tries to support transparent drop through into native mode commands. In the example you posed, to invoke your command file, you would type @mycomfile just as you would to DCL. Note that I mentioned in so far as possible. The tricks that must be performed in order to get the DCL sub-process into the same state (environment) as the parent are substantial, and sometimes we do not get them all.
