[comp.object] Info request on IBM PC OOP Libraries

borton@fwi.uva.nl (Chris Borton) (02/21/90)

I was asked by a colleague with no access to the net to pose this question.
[Violins start melody, everyone is already rolling their eyes...:-)]
Since my area of interest and expertise lies quite ouside this range, I don't
normally get to these groups in my news reading. If you could reply by
e-mail that would be greatly appreciated; requests from those interested in
a summary of what I receive are also welcome. The question:

What is currently available on IBM-PC (and compatible) systems in the way of
class libraries? This is primarily directed at MS-DOS and Windows, but with
an eye towards OS/2 as well.  The Glockenspiel C++ compiler/library we have;
we have also heard that Turbo Pascal has a class library.

What other libraries are there? What is your favorite? Why is it good/bad?

Much appreciation in advance,

-cbb
