From: Aram Boornazian <ABOORNAZIAN@BBNV1> My understanding is that up to recently, the recommended procedure for repairing RA81 messes was to reformat them in the field. However, now the preferred procedure is to replace the HDA and send the old one back to the factory. The factory has a machine that looks for weak blocks by playing with the voltages applied to the heads while it reformats the disk. The result is a more reliable HDA. Aram ------
