[comp.object] Object-oriented computation model

carroll@udel.edu (Mark Carroll <MC>) (08/17/90)

As anyone who's ever bothered to read my posts knows, I'm interested
in the kinds of machines that different languages model. In my last
semester at Rutgers, I did some independent research (with Irv
Rabinowitz) in Object-orientation. As a part of that, I attempted to
find the "vonNeumann machine" of object-orientation. After much
time spent thing, I believe that I have a suitable definition of
the primitive object-oriented automaton.

I'd like to get a couple of people to read it, and send my critiques. If
it stands up to the abuse, and my advisor at Udel thinks its a good idea,
I might end up publishing it.

Anyway: If you're interested in seeing and critiqueing such a beast,
please send me mail.
