I am taking a graduate class in natural language processing and have to do a project of my own design, basically involving parsing and semantic analysis and action. I am considering using an OOP approach, since I'm learning Smalltalk (Smalltalk/V PM). My teammate is going to use LISP, but I think we can manage this multi-language project by defining module interfaces via ASCII text. I seek advice; is this a good approach? Right now it isn't clear to me how objects would be used in parsing and analyzing NL. Thanks in advance for any comments you can send to me!
