Workshop on Object-Oriented Software Engineering Practice September 17-19, 1991, Japan Object-oriented technology promises to revolutionize the software development process. Like in any revolution old ways need to be replaced by new. This workshop aims to foster a dialogue between researchers and practitioners to facilitate this revolution. The aim is to set an agenda for research and practice for the next decade and beyond so as to foster an improved effectiveness of object-oriented technology usage, improving the technology transfer process that allows for a continual refinement of good engineering practice as relevant to the object-oriented paradigm and the evolution of object-oriented technology paradigm to incorporate new and useful concepts. The workshop will be limited to approximately 20 papers. As a first step papers (maximum size 20 double-spaced pages) are invited on areas of critical concern to the object- oriented development community. All submissions must include the author's name(s), affiliation, telephone and facsimile numbers, e-mail address, areas of responsibility/research, paper title, and an abstract on the cover page. Selected participants will be invited to submit revised papers which will be circulated amongst the participants prior to the workshop. The submitted papers will be required to be revised considering the feedback and discussions at the workshop and these will be published. Broad-based papers are encouraged. Topics for the workshop shall in- clude but are not limited to the following: - object-oriented methodologies, CASE tools - testing and verification of object-oriented systems - life-cycle, large-scale development - library management - metrics for effort, quality etc. - merging with existing and new technologies Emphasis should be placed on the technology transfer process and a faster practical realization of benefits. Special consideration will be given to those topics and controversial positions that are not normally covered in other technical forums. Please Submit FIVE copies of paper (maximum 20 double-spaced pages) to: Pankaj Goyal, U S WEST Advanced Technologies, 6200 So. Quebec St., Englewood, CO 80111, USA e-mail: pankaj@uswest.com Tel.
