Jim Rumbaugh (etal), of GE Corporate Research & Development, has just published a book called "Object-Oriented Modeling and Design". The book centers around the Object Modeling Technique developed at GE-CR&D in conjunction with work done here at Calma (we're a division of Prime Computer). The Object Modeling Technique has been used quite effectively within Calma for the last four years to design large CAD applications. The following is an abstract of the book's table of contents: Part 1 : Modeling Concepts Modeling as a Design Technique Object Modeling Advanced Object Modeling Dynamic Modeling Functional Modeling Part 2: Design Methodology Methodology Preview Analysis System Design Object Design Methodology Summary Comparison of Methodologies Part 3: Implementation From Design to Implementation Programming Style Object-Oriented Languages Non-Object-Oriented Languages Relational Databases Part 4: Applications Object Diagram Compiler Computer Animation Electrical Distribution Design System The book has exercises at the end of each chapter.
