[comp.object] Need examples of polymorphism/dynamic binding in DB applications

brianm@ecst.csuchico.edu (Brian Meyerpeter) (02/22/91)

Hi,

I'm doing research on polymorphism and dynamic binding with respect
to how they could be used in Dbms applications.

I know that some systems are designed so that the data moves from
one state to another and that these states represent where the data
is in the process or what it contains at that time.

Any example's of the need to look at data as a different type of object
than it started out to be would be appreciated. Especially when the
data MUST become that type of object. (Maybe not just a different view).

Thank you in advance
