From: engvax!KVC@cit-vax The DEUNA article is in DEC Standard Runoff format, not NROFF. Maybe it runs through NROFF, though, they are similar. I run it through VAX/VMS Runoff, but it should be compatible with any other DEC Runoff. /Kevin Carosso engvax!kvc @ CIT-VAX.ARPA Hughes Aircraft Co.

From: William "Chops" Westfield <BillW@SRI-KL> Several people have pointed out that DEUNA.TXT is RUNOFF format and not NROFF format (Well, I ran it though our tops20 runoff, and it got errors, unix nroff didnt complain, vax runoff didnt complain. i guess our tops20 runoff is out of date. Sigh). DEUNA.TXT has been updated. Sorry BillW

From: William LeFebvre <phil@rice.ARPA> Unix nroff hardly ever complains about anything. If it comes across a macro invocation that has no definition, it just silently ignores the whole line. I can't say this is desirable. Almost all of the complaining that comes out of nroff comes from the various macro packages (such as "me"). So, saying that nroff didn't complain doesn't necessarily mean that it loved it. I would take a close look at the output if I were you.
