From: David_Cathey <dcathey%ti-eg.csnet@csnet-relay.ARPA> The /HEADER prints a header line at the top of each page printed with date, filename.type;version, and the date. To disable the banner page, /NOFLAG is used. There is also a FLAG qualifier on the START/QUEUE that enables whether the banner page is normally printed. Where I used to work, the device queue LPA0 had NOFLAG, but SYS$PRINT had FLAG. Files printed by PRINT would have a header, files copied to LPA0: didn't. The local RJE system we wrote would copy files to LPA0: and would have only IBM headers, while normal VAX prints would have VMS headers. David Cathey Texas Instruments

From: decwrl!decvax!seismo!umcp-cs!cvl!umd5!igold@BERKELEY I'm new to VMS. Does PRINT handle TXT files differently from other types? The /HEADER only prints the heading on the first page of TXT files.
