We have a network with a number of SUNs (all flavors and sizes) and PCs (XT, AT, 386; all run MS-DOS so far). I'm thinking of converting some of the PCs to run some *NIX dialect that would (preferably) allow them to be used as X-terminals in conjunction with the SUNs. Is this a good idea? Has anybody got advice to share on the subject? Which PC-*NIX dialects work best with SUNs? Is a 286 enough to run X or do you need a 386? How about NFS connectivity? All info greatly appreciated.
