After reading Todd's dicussion on antialiasing filters it might be useful to point out that the DSP56ADC16 oversampling (64x) A/D converter will provide a 'tuneable' linear phase antialiasing function. The 56ADC16's OUTPUT sample rate can vary from 8 KHz to 100 Khz and utilizes a 255 tap FIR filter to maintain a -96 dB stopband attenuation , roughly 10% transition band and a flat passband to 20 KHz ( when operated at 44.1 KHz output rate). The antialiasing filter cutoff scales directly with the input clock...as you tune the sample rate with the input clock you thus tune the cutoff of the decimation filter as well. -Charlie Thompson
