[fa.info-vax] VMS 4.0 DECnet problem

For those who have VMS 4.0 up.

Today I brought up 4.0 on a 730 which is DECnetted to a 780 (still at
version 3.4). The upgrade went fine as did the DECnet installation.

The machines have a problem with DECnet file access:

The 730 has 1 Meg, the 780 4 Meg. Proxy access is used.
On file transfer (pushed from 780 to 730) I get more often than not
"Network partner exited". The log on the 730 (NETSERVER.LOG) just
stops while running NETSERVER. No errors. The accountning file gives
final status of 10000004 ("no text").

Is anyone aware of increased need for IRP's LRP's, NPAGDYN,
etc. quotas, privilege etc.etc. Sometimes things do work.

Thanks for any help in advance.

At the last DECUS, a DEC speaker stated that for some configurations
AUTOGEN could set system parameters, those controlling request packet
list sizes, incorrectly. LRPCOUNT was one of those mentioned, its
minimum value should be at least 4.
