From: Provan@LLL-MFE.ARPA Can anyone tell me what steps I need to take to allow myself to set host to myself even though I don't have a DECnet license. We use a derivative of this ability in our software, but it stopped working in 4.0. There are several things which could be wrong, but I'd at least like to confirm the Set Host 0 still works. It doesn't, but I'm not sure I'm setting everything up right. Even if someone can tell me how to do it in level 3 systems, I can at least try that and see if it works. Now I get the message 0%SYSTEM-F_SHUT, remote node no longer accepting connects.

From: Provan@LLL-MFE.ARPA As usual, my worst moment of frustration (when I send up flares for help in Info-Vax) came minutes before I found the solution. I don't know whether this is going to be true in a normal DECnet site, but our .com file to set the network up had the following commands in the following order: Set Executor Address 2 Set Executor State On Set Executor Name CCV When I moved the Name up above the State On, everything (including our application) worked fine. Sorry to trouble everyone for no reason again.
