I'm looking for dsp systems, particularly boards and software for PC's that can do very fast 64 bit floating point math. Although I'm EE background, I've been doing mostly software so I haven't kept up with the dsp market a lot. I understand that the AMD 29000 family can do 64 bit math fast, but I'm having a hard time determining how fast. Also, we need good support tools, such as compilers, debuggers, and assemblers. I've also heard that the T800 can do fast 64 bit math, but again I'm not sure how fast. Could someone tell me of any board level products with these 2 chips and their opinions of them? If possible, compare with the AT&T DSP32C, since that is what we currently use. Compare both 32 bit and 64 bit flops if you know them. Also, if you know of any other chips that can do quick 64 bit math, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
