[comp.dsp] How many FFTs?

A new project here want to do lots of fixed point FFTs.

All FFTs operate on the same size data, 256 x 16bits.

If not much else is happening in a NeXT system
how many FFTs can be done per second with the 68040 models?

Using the NeXT DSP instead of the 68040?
