[comp.dsp] ADSP 2100 users

finkel@TAURUS.BITNET (03/08/91)

I am in the middle of designing a small DSP board based on the
ADSP 2105, and I would like to hear from other people who use this
chip or other DSP chips from the ADSP 21XX series. I am especially
interested in free cross assemblers or even a C compiler.

The reason I chose the ADSP 2105 chip is because it's the most
cost-effective way to get into the DSP world. at $9.95 a piece this
is CHEAP. My board will also include 24K bytes of 50ns RAM, arranged
as 8K words of data and 8K words of program memory. I also found a
clever way to use the extra 4K bytes left as D0-7 on the data memory
as boot memory, which will be loaded from a host ( I designed a dual
poer memory interface using the DSP's ~BR and ~BG signals ).
Don't ask me for the design right now, because I will post it when
it will be finished. ( I'm using OrCad so I can produce HPGL or
PostScript output files ).
