From: GKN%OAK.SAINET.MFENET@LLL-MFE.ARPA Pat: You can get rid of the directory file if you convince VMS that it isn't a directory file thusly: $ Set File <directory>/NoDirectory $ Delete <directory> You then need to do an $ Analyze/Disk/Repair/Confirm (with BYPASS turned on) to recover the lost files which used to be in the directory. Come to think of it, $ Analyze/Disk/Repair might just fix it up anyway. Hope this helps... gkn ------------------------------------------ Arpa: GKN%OAK.SAInet@LLL-MFE USPS: Gerard K. From: ihnp4!houxm!hou2h!pgp@BERKELEY Girard, you rat, this is Pat Palmer. I saw your note and thought I'd try getting mail through. I work at AT&T in New Jersey and am on Usenet; it looks like the path is: info-vax!ucbvax!ulysses!mhuxr!ihnp4!hou2h!pgp (UUCP address) Anyway, machine ihnp4 gates to ARPA, and ihnp4!hou2h!pgp should reach me. Hope you are doing well. I heard you ended up back in the old home town. I like it up here, and I like my job so far (microprocessor development in a UNIX environment); I've been here a year. Well, gotta go. Greetings to friends in East Tennessee. I'd be pleased to receive mail from you or even get a call acknowledging that this got through. Bye now, --Pat Palmer, 201-834-1092 (work) 201-544-8140 (home) Bx 626, Holmdel, NJ 07733
