[comp.dsp] VME Board with 4 TMS320C30's ???

robison@rocke.electro.swri.edu (Bob Robison) (04/09/91)

I think I've seen an ad recently for a new DSP board that has four
TI TMS320C30's on a single 6U VME board. I thought I had circled a
bingo card and/or cut out the ad, but I can't seem to find anything on
it. Does anyone know who might make such a board??

thanks,
bob

There is at least one company which claims to have 4 TI TMS320C30s
on a single VME 6 U board with room for up to 16 MBytes of RAM.

In the lowest RAM configuration, the board sells for about $1000.

The model number for this board is the ISP 433/16:

Sales Manager: Garry Allen
Image and Signal Processing, Inc.
120 Linden Av.
Long Beach, CA 90802

If anyone has any experience with this board, I'd be very interested.

Well, that's close. The cheapest configuration gets you 1 TMS320C30
and 4 Mbytes of DRAM. That price is $3995.

The most expensive option is with 4 TMS320C30 chips and 16 Mbytes of
DRAM. The DRAM is shared between the 4 processors, the VME bus, and
the VSB bus. This board can be a MASTER or SLAVE on either VME or
VSB. Each processor also has 32Kx32 words of local fast static ram
that is not shared with the other processors.

This looks like a very nice board, I should be getting a manual in the
mail today.

The person in sales that I talked to was Bill Morse (213) 495-9533.
