FUNDING APPLICATION FOR EUROPEAN COMMUNITY - - TECHNOLOGY IN HEALTH CARE - We are currently putting together a proposal for the European AIM 91-94 initiative on Information Technology and Telematics for Health Care. We have a project in mind, tentatively titled "Digital Signal Processing for Knowledge Based System (KBS) interpretation of EEG Signals". The reference to EEGs may be extended to ECGs, EMGs. So far we have three partners, the Signal Processing Division at the University of Strathclyde, and possible an Institute of Neurology in Scotland, and an industrial partner who specialise in KBS. For these projects to have any chance of being funded a LOWER limit of 5 partners is suggested, and they would preferably be scattered around the European Community (Member Countries) (France, Greece, Germany, Spain ...... and so on). Up to 9 partners (a big money project) is not unreasonable. The partners we are looking for are either Clinical/University or Industry. What we really need is an industrial organisation currently involved in EEGs to join us; working in designing hardware or software for EEG analysis. We have formulated a number of research ideas based on the latest state of the art hardware and algorithms in signal processing. We now need to pool together a consortium. If anybody out there knows of a similar project team, perhaps they could pass on my details and we could join them/they could join us. As a last resort we are looking for just names of companies/universities/ institutes in Europe who may have an interest. If you can provide a name and address as a starting point, we would follow up with a "cold" call to seek collaboration. Unfortunately the submission deadline is early June 91. Not impossible but close to it! Please E-mail/post any information you may have.
