[comp.dsp] Correcting for DACs, filters, screen...

panisset@thunder.McRCIM.McGill.EDU (Jean-Francois Panisset ) (06/01/91)

I am currently looking at incorporating into my anti-aliasing filters
some kind of correction for the zero-order hold effect of the DACs,
as well as (perhaps) the combined frequency response of the video
amps, the cables and the shape of the gaussian spot on the screen.
I know I can find the theory on correcting for the DAC in chapter 3
of Discrete Time Signal Processing by Oppenheim and Schaeffer, but what
I am looking for is references which deal with this problem from a
computer graphics point of view. More specifically, am I wasting my
time trying to correct for very minor effects, or is there substantial
image quality to be gained by taking these into consideration?

Thanks in advance for the information,

JF Panisset
