I have a large (~100k lines of C) application that needs its floating point performance speed up by several times. We can't go to a $10-20k platform because our customer base can't afford it (we run on 386/486's). We can't go to integer because we don't have a year to debug it. I've been looking at i860 PC add-in boards but they run around $5k. I've found a TMS320C30 board that we can get in quanitity for around $2k (we'll need several thousand and it must have graphics on board), but I'm not real confident about porting such a large app to it. If you have experience porting C programs (the bigger the better) to any DSP type system: TMS320C30, AT&T DSP32C, AMD29050?, MM96002, or whatever, please tell me a bit about your experiences (ANSI compatablitiy, performance, developement tools, etc). I'll post a synopsis. --
