[fa.info-vax] VMS networking software query

I'm just wondering if anyone else has a configuration similar to ours:

We are running the Kashtan 4.1cBSD version of the internet kernel software
on our VMS system. Our VMS MAIL program has been patched to accept upper
and lower case, and recognize exclamation points in the "To:" field so that
our users can mail to "MAILER!User@Host". This mail is locally delivered
to our pseudo user MAILER and distributed over the net from there. I assume
that FTP and FINGER servers remain the same.

What I am trying to do is determine if the 4.0 change is going to affect
anyone in the same way it is going to affect us. I would be interested
in hearing from people who are not running Wollongong-supported software
as to just what it is they have. We have a problem with buying the
TWG release in that someone has to pay for it, and it isn't really nice
to tell your local hosts that they will have to cough up $$$ if they
want to remain on the net. Although that may well be the case.

Thanks for your inputs.

Ron
