[comp.unix.aix] Ethernet for AIX/PS 2

jpp@specialix.co.uk (John Pettitt) (11/11/89)

We would like to add out PS/2 to our network but trying to find out
from IBM which ethernet card to buy for use with AIX is impossible.

Can some kind soul who has an AIX PS/2 running on a TCP/IP network
let me know what hardware they are using.

Thanks

The supported Ethernet card for AIX PS/2 is the
Ungermann-Bass NICps/2 board, orderable from IBM as
part number 1327050. I believe it is also available
from U-B and other sources.

I have used this card successfully.

We use the Ungermann-Bass NIC/PS2 adapter for our PS/2s.

Opinions are strictly my own,

IBM supports the Ungermann-Bass "NIC PS/2" Ethernet card under AIX
(to the best of my knowledge). I don't know of any others that are
supported, but that certainly doesn't preclude the possibility. Check with
your local IBM sales office for more information.

	Hope that helps.

These opinions are my own. I doubt IBM wants them.......
