From: Contr23 <CONTR23@NOSC-TECR> We currently have two VAX 11/780 connected via DECNET. I have two application programs running on both nodes that communicate through mailboxes. That is at least what is intended. Two permanent mailboxes have been created, on on each node. The problem is that I have not been able to write to write to the other node's mailbox. The application program is written in Ada(Telesoft 1.5). The mailboxes have been created from a VMS macro routine. I have attempted to use "NET:", however, without any successs. Suggestions or solutions would be most helpful. We have just installed DECNET and our VAX staff has not had too much experience with its applications. ------------------------- Thanks in advance Jim Baldo Jr. ------

From: John_Aronsson_QZ%QZCOM.MAILNET@MIT-MULTICS.ARPA There are some problems with mailbox communication via DEC-NET. One of them (I think) is that you can't both read and write to the same mailbox. If that's what you do, with communicate one-way-only. /John Aronsson.
