I am having trouble with my hostname command. I need to know what other files this command needs. When executed the error I get is: can't open control connection : No such file or directory Where is it looking? Thanks, acyoung@sunrise.acs.syr.edu

The error message sounds to me like an ftp one. Do an explicit "/bin/hostname", then do "what /bin/hostname" and make sure it says "hostname.c" somewhere. My guess is you've got a link or an alias set up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- disclaimer: all persons (including myself) and events mentioned herein are fictitious and, given the subjective nature of reality, can bear no resemblence to any other person's conception of real persons or events.
