From: CMP.STARCH@UTEXAS-20.ARPA We recently hooked up our Chromatics CX1500 graphics engine to our 780 via a DR11-W. Up to that time, we had it in another building, hooked over a serial line at 9600 baud. We have experienced no improvement in the drawing time, since switching to a DMA connection. We are dissapointed, to say the least, since drawing a relativly un-complicated map of the world still takes over 4 minutes. For a 30k+ piece of equipement (68010 processor, etc), we feel that we could buy almost any other graphics terminal and improve on the performance. I would like to hear from people that have the CX1500 on their computer, and would like to here if someone has a possible explanation for the low performance of this gear. (The same world map can be drawn by our 4800 baud VT125's in less than 2 Minutes) Thanks in advance - SteveKneuper cmp.starch@utexas-20 -------
