We may be getting an 8600 to run 4.2bsd and the disk situation seems a little
uncertain. Of course, there's the HSC-50, but it's not clear what kind
of driver support for it will be available in the near future and if
we did go with an HSC-50 we'd probably be running RA81s and those disks
seem to be less than reliable.
We've been wondering about the possibilities of running Emulex Eagles
on the MASSBUS. I haven't yet found anyone that's been able to make
solid statements about the feasibility of this (but I'm still looking).
We know that it's possible to just plug in an MBA into an SBI expansion
cabinet and stick a MASSBUS tape drive on it, but could one just plug
an Emulex SC780 into one of the slots intended for an MBA and hang some
Eagles on it? Anybody know?
