[fa.info-vax] Basic Protection - I

This must be truly basic and I'm just not putting something together.

A Fortran program has been INSTALLed /PRIV=(BYPASS,SYSPRV). It is trying to
write into an empty file with a different UIC than the process running the
program. (The process is in the same group, however.) The protection on both
the file and the file's directory is S:RWED,O:RWED,G,W, but the program blows
up for insufficient privilege. Change the UIC on the file to that of the
process and no problem. We're at 3.7 VMS.

Any ideas?
Peter
