[comp.unix.aix] GUI-based mailtool and "toolplaces" info wanted

looi@sutro.SFSU.EDU (W. W. Looi) (04/09/91)

Having come from Sun environment, I'm rather disapponted with RS6000's
environment. I've been trying to get xmh to work but to no avail. May
someone suggest other GUI-based mailtool(s) for AIX?

I recall reading somewhere a "toolplaces" tool called xplace that's part
of X11 distribution. Surprisingly, it is neither in /usr/bin/X11 nor
/usr/lpp/X11/Xamples/clients?!

Please help...

Thanks.

Hmm... xmail was posted to comp.sources.x some time ago though I have
never seen it running, it is reportedly similar to the mailtool... xmh
(X11R3 version) can be found in /usr/lpp/X11/Xamples/clients and the
R4 version is easily ported/compiled if you have the X11R4
libraries...

Probably X11R4 distribution?
