From: *Hobbit* <AWalker@RUTGERS.ARPA> Thanks to all who answered my previous flame. The condition ''no disk quota'' can be taken to mean either ''no checks imposed on creating files'' or ''cannot create *any* files''. I took it to mean the former. I've since done the obvious thing with REBUILD and setting up substantially immense quotas for all the extant UICs. PHONE *is* installed with SYSNAM,PRMMBX,WORLD,OPER,and NETMBX as required. Still doesn't work. This is a 785 running 4.0, soon to be 4.1 [our upgrade kit finally showed up...] Next step is customer support, I suppose... Unless anyone else has an idea? I forwarded the problem with MAIL and pagelength 0 to DSIN. Now, is anyone running Wollongong TCP [some of you *must* be]? I have banged into a few real neato nasties with it. The most serious one is that if you have virtual terminals turned on, incoming network connections that exit leave a dead NTY device sitting around. OPENing and CLOSEing it in DCL will make it go away. But if you $brdcst [$brkthru, whatever] to that dead NTY, your system promptly crashes. Also, their new mailer is a piece of *junk* and insists that I'm on a DECNET host, which I'm not. [ie it puts .DECNET in the domain name instead of .ARPA, which breaks everyone's REPLY command.] And there are numerous other little problems too random to mention here. This is IP/TCP version 2.1 [the only one that runs under 4.x]. Anyone manage to fix/work around all the lossage? _H* -------
