[comp.unix.aix] Adding a 5 1/4" Diskette Drive...

gmadise@uxc.cso.uiuc.edu (Gordon Madise) (04/23/91)

I am trying to add a 5 1/4" diskette drive to a Model 80
running AIX 1.2. I would like to add it with the same
functions as the 3 1/2" diskette default drive. I have
modified /etc/filesystems. My diskette drive is an IBM
internal model. I searched all the manuals and cannot seem
to solve this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I called IBM about this problem as well, and was told that AIX 1.2 doesn't
support the external 5.25" floppy, but that 1.21 (being shipped now) does.
