I have not watched television in many years, but from
what I hear Dirk and Sandy do not come across as a good
advertisement for their method because they look strange.
In their book, "Life Extention", however, they have done their
homework. I had a friend that worked in Stanford with Linus
Pauling. Over a period of years he pointed me to many articles
about nutrition and health. "Life Extention" was the first other
reference to many of those articles I have ever seen.

The book is far more scientific than many books on nutrition and
they constantly point out that the research is inadaquate to draw any
conclusions. They point out that the research the government has done
to determine vitamin requirements is also inadaquate. They claim that
the daily requirements were determined by finding out the average
vitamin intake of americans and calling that optimum. This was politically
motivated. What easier way to assure that all Americians have adaquate
nutrition that to find out how much nutrition we get and mandating that
that is optimum?
