I compiled ratfor the other day on an RS/6000 running 3002 (I think). It built without a problem, and it even worked (to some extent) in translating the test.r program into FORTRAN (which I compiled with xlf). The goofiness: the program writes the FORTRAN code to the outfile, then writes ad infinitum some character sequence. This is what od -d says it is: 0000000 08224 08224 08224 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 0000020 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 * 0000100 65535 65535 65535 65535 02592 08224 08224 08447 0000120 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 65535 Has anyone successfully worked around this problem? I snagged the sources from a comp.sources.unix archive somewhere. Regards, Rob -- Rob Wargaski r-wargaski@nwu.edu Colby is good. ACNS DSS, Northwestern University
