[fa.info-vax] Hardware for jnet

We are going to get Joiner's jnet software to connect our
780 to BITNET. Can someone who has this software tell me which
sync line interface - DUP-11 or DMF-32 - impacts the system less?
For obvious reasons, we'd like to keep the impact of adding
the sync line to a minimum. If you can provide performance data,
please do.

Thanks,

I have been told by the author of jnet that the DMF-32 impacts the system
substantially less (he is Craig Watkins). I have not measured this but the
DMA is apparently a big win. We run on a DUP since the DMF was not supported
when we started running jnet and our DMF port is used for DECnet. Given
the choice, I would switch to the DMF.

Thank you for your information. We suspected that the DMF was better
than the DUP.
