[comp.unix.aix] Extended Hardware Buffering on PS/2?

czahl@opal.cs.tu-berlin.de (Christian Zahl) (06/05/91)

One question on the serial device driver for AIX 1.2 running on PS/2:
Does the DD supports the Extended Hardware Buffering (e.g. use it the
FIFO) if there is a 16550 UART installed? Or is there any special to
  do?

Thanks in advandce, Chris

Support for using the FIFO is included in AIX 1.2. The driver detects
if the hardware is present and uses the FIF if it is present.
