I have been going through the trauma of trying to upgrade my 320 from 3001 to 3005. It has taken a week so far and the machine is still out of commission. I made a couple of mistakes, but the worst part was that the instructions are incorrect. In particular, do not delete /usr/lpd and tcpip/samples directories before the update. The instructions say that these files can be backed up and deleted to save disk space in /usr before the update. It's not so. If the /usr/lpp/tcpip/samples directory is missing the bosnet objects won't update, and 3001 /usr/lpd is incompatible with 3005. I asked one of the IBM software gurus why the instructions were wrong and he said "we told them they were wrong, but they don't listen to us." That's not a very good way to keep customers happy.
