I'm running aix for the ps/2 version 1.2. Is there any type of translate table where tn3270 changes ASCII<->EBCDIC and back? Something that I can change or modify, or is it just compiled in the executable? Thanks, -- C Lance Moxley Internet: Lance-Moxley@uiuc.edu AISS/Telecommunications BITNET: UNETCLM at UICVMC University of Illinois UUCP: uunet!uiucuxc!uiuc.edu!Lance-Moxley

Yes there should be. Look in /etc/3270.keys. There may be
statements like:
assign etoa[N] 0x32
assign atoe[N] 0x40
Where N is {0..256}. I'm rusty on the syntax but I believe
that's how it went. I'm pretty sure white space doesn't matter.
You can map any arbtrary ebcdic character to
any ascii character. If you don't include any assignments in
your 3270 key-mapping file, you get the default. I believe this only
applies for AIX 1.2, not AIX 1.2.1.
This feature was not part of the original GA release of AIX1.2, so
you may need to upgrade if you are running a down-level version.
