mjm@bjcong.bj.co.uk (MIKE McDONAGH) (06/27/91)
Setup: AIX 3.1 on RS/6000 320 bos.obj 03.01.0001.0003 xlccmp.obj 01.01.0001.0003 I am having problems getting printf() to output to the console. The printf()s in question reside in a kernel extension, some are executed in the process environment, some in the interrupt environment. Some of the printf()s simply have a string as their parameter, others have a local variable as well. When the printf()s are executed nothing appears on the console at all [printf()s executed in user space behave normally]. The /dev/console permission seems OK (crw--w--wT). The same code did output to the console under 19.21E but no longer works after upgrading to 3001. The same code also works on another 320 with the same level of upgrade. What's wrong with the set up on my machine, any ideas?
