RASTER IMAGING AND DIGITAL TYPOGRAPHY, INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP
October 12-13, 1989.

Sponsored by Eurographics
Ecole Polytechnique Federale, Lausanne, Switzerland

Chairman : Roger D. Hersch, EPFL
Vice-Chairman : Jacques Andr., INRIA-IRISA, Rennes, France
Debra Adams, Xerox Parc, Palo Alto, USA

Raster image processors for screens, non-impact printers and
plotters require highly sophisticated algorithms and hardware.
Outline character acquisition, design, manipulation and
rasterization, as well as graphic and image rendering are of
major concern to scientists and engineers involved in the
development of raster imaging devices.

It is the aim of this workshop to bring together people from
various scientific, industrial and artistic backgrounds. It will
provide a unique opportunity for information and discussion on
advanced techniques in the domains of Raster Imaging and Digital
Typography.

The conference program includes the following sessions:
- Character Generation - Kanji Fonts
- Rendering using Raster - Character Design
- Design Analysis and Font - Character Outline Manipulation
- Font Management - Raster Imaging and Curve Fitting
