UNIVERSITE CATHOLIQUE DE LOUVAIN Belgium Department of Computing Science and Engineering The Universite Catholique de Louvain invites applica- tions for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Computing Science and Engineering to be filled by October 1, 1991. Rank and salary depend upon qualifications and experience. Responsibilities include research, supervision of graduate student research, obtaining and managing research projects, graduate and undergraduate teaching in various study programs. Candidates should have a Ph.D in computing science and/or engineering and a commitment to excellence in both research and teaching; leadership skills are highly valued. A working knowledge of the french language is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or several of the following areas: programming methods and theories, design and logic of data and knowledge bases, design of information systems. The department belongs to the School of Engineering; it is located in the new city of Louvain-la-Neuve, 30 km. south of Brussels, the capital of Belgium, in the heart of Europe.
