Hello again;
Sorry to bother you again, but my Wyse 700 'graphics subsystem' is still
giving me fits. System review;
Wyse 2200-20, 286 processor (AT Clone).
640 KB memory, no extended.
2 physical hard disks, 4 logical hard disks.
1.2 5 1/4 inch floppy.
1/4 inch cartridge tape drive, custom made for my machine.
MS-DOS 3.3.
2 parallel interfaces, LPT1: and LPT2:
2 serial interfaces, COM1: and COM2:
And the 'not to be believed' WY-700 Graphics subsystem.
Is anyone from Wyse listening????
From a previous posting, I requested information as to how to use this
graphics subsystem. I seem to have the worlds most expensive monochrome
CGA monitor. The only answer that made sense was to use Windows, since I
had the drivers for it. Good idea, I went out and got a copy here in the
UK. You might guess that it wouldn't load on my system. Got a copy from
the US and it loaded, runs in CGA, very ugly. Attempt to put in the WY-700
drivers and it became clear that the drivers were not written for WIN-3. I
now get windows that are about 2.5 inches long and full screen width, I can
maximize some to full screen. The real problem is, however, that all text
generated by WIN is a lot of dots in random locations in there blocks. The
blocks still work, if you can figure out what all those dots mean. Further
I can not enter any text from the keyboard in any program, makes file
loading a bit difficult.
Any suggestions???
I have already thought of junking the WY-700 system, but since it cost me
around $500 I am not anxious to admit defeat yet.
If anyone can E-mail me some drivers for this pig I would greatly
appreciate it. Especially WIN-3, Word 5.0, Harvard Graphics.
Best regards from 'currently' sunny England.
BOB
