I am currenty working on a research proposal/dissertation prospectus that (*very* briefly) will be looking at migration into forest reserves as a part of the process of the differentiation of the peasantry, that is the transformation of peasant classes under capitalism and growing marginalization of a significant portion of the peasantry. The fieldwork will be done in Thailand. I will be testing to see what the relationship between state policy regarding land tenure and this process of migration is. a) Does anyone have reccomendations for prior research and other references that they would reccomend? I am aquainted with most of the literature for Thailand, but would like to incorporate material from other geographic areas, as well as other academic areas. b) Anyone know a source of the actual text of the different land reform acts in Thailand? I am especially interested in 1953, 1975 and the 1983 acts. I already have located discussions about them, but not the acts as they were written. English or Thai is okay. Thanks. Mark A.
