"RAF puts Chinooks back to work"

"RAF Chinook helicopters have resumed unrestricted flying after
investigations discovered the cause of 2 crashes last month. An
identified fault in the rear gearboxes led to the crash of a
Chinook at RAF Odiham on July 24th and a further crash on the
Falklands the day after. Both accidents happened while the
helicopters were in a low hover, and a total of 7 men were lightly
hurt. Accident investigators discovered that the fault lay in part
of the rear gearbox, which led to de-synchronisation of the two
rotors.
