From: jusczak@NADC hi, i need to transfer ascii files from a pdp11/23 running rt11 to a vax11/750 running vms v4.1. i have plenty of experience in vms, however i am not familiar with the pdp11 or rt11. tape tranfer seems like the best way but i was unable to write in a form readable by vms. thanks for any help, mike jusczak jusczak@nadc

From: sasaki@harvard.ARPA (Marty Sasaki) RT-11 ascii files can be read using COPY (or PIP in compatibility mode). Mount the tape /blocksize=512 and /nohdr2 (I think). EXHANGE might also work (I haven't tried it). Marty Sasaki

From: greipa!paul@decwrl.ARPA (Paul A. Vixie) 1. Use kermit. 2. Use flx (see "Utilitie" manual) - rsx and rt understand this format (rt understands nothing else, in fact). 3. Write a mag tape with fixed record and block size and then read on the vax end. You may have to write programs for this... 4. Use decnet.
