WANTED: CANDIDATES FOR HEALTH EDUCATION AWARD

     The World Health Organization is seeking nominations for its 1989
     award for outstanding work in the field of health education in
     primary health care.

     A cash prize of US$5,000 - to be used for continuing health
     education activities -  and a commemorative plaque are awarded
     to the person(s), institution(s) or non-governmental
     organization(s) making the best contribution towards
     strengthening health education in primary health care.

     Candidates may be nominated by any national health education
     authority, a former prize recipient, or by any individual
     insitution or NGO concerned with health education.  UN agencies
     and staff members are not eligible for nomination, WHO says.

     Only a health education activity still in progress will be
     considered and the education must be "innovative" in its
     planning and implementation, as well as in the evaluation of the
     activity's impact on the health of the people concerned.

     Nominations for the 1989 award must reach WHO before 30 September
     1989, addressed to: Division of Health Education and Health
     Promotion, WHO, 1211 Geneva 27, Switzerland.
