These are routed through Telco-style punch blocks and 25-pair cables to the other floors, where they are broken out through similar panels. Our electrical system is tight enough that *building* *ground* serves just fine as pin 7 for everybody. Occasionally we get a new terminal that has a floating signal ground, which needs a local 1 to 7 strap or a quick kludge inside it to make it ''Rutgers-usable''. The only horrendous voltage problem we had with this rig was with a printer whose CorCom EMI filter was wired backwards. This was floating the printer EIA interface at about 50 VAC away from that of the '20 it was plugged into. And we always *wondered* why the 20 didn't see xon/xoff from the printer half the time ... _H* -------
